Go Paperless – Do Good

A few years ago, our firm made the decision to go paperless. (Yes, we are lawyers and we have a fondness for paper and cannot completely eliminate it, but the advantages of going paperless were simply too compelling, so we have digitized all our files and systematized our access to them.) This change has increased our efficiency, ability to retrieve information and transmit it more quickly to our clients and minimize exposure resulting from lost documents and information. In addition, by eliminating the space we devoted to storing paper, we decreased our rental and personnel costs.

A major challenge in shifting from paper to digital files is dealing with historical records and converting voluminous old files to digital files. Our firm hired Gompers Habilitation Center, which provides services to disabled adults and children, to scan our documents and convert them. The work was excellent, and we had complete confidence that the confidentiality of our documents was preserved.

Gompers has recently entered into a joint venture with Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services (STARS), another non-profit organization serving disabled adults and children. Through this affiliation, the venture known as Tandem Document Professionals provides Valley-wide scanning and document management services to public and governmental agencies, and private and commercial businesses. If you are interested in learning more about Tandem, please visit www.tandemdocs.com. It’s a great way to do good for your business or agency and do good for the community.
